The State of Ohio 2019 Veterans Hall of Fame inductee, Al Burzynski, APR, originally from Junction City, Kan., now calls Columbus, Ohio, home. Burzynski is a graduate of Kansas State University holding a bachelor's degree in marketing and business administration and he is currently pursuing his master’s degree in Public Relations from Full Sail University. In addition, Burzynski earned a diploma from the prestigious Defense Information School (DINFOS) after successfully completing the Public Affairs Officer program.
Burzynski’s marketing and strategic public relations career has spanned nearly three decades contributing to the success of professional sports leagues and franchises, the Department of Army and the Department of Veterans Affairs.

He has been recognized for his professional accomplishments and volunteer work in the community as he has received numerous awards, which include: the Department of Defense (DoD) Community Service Award, three DoD Achievement Medal for Civilian Service and the State of Ohio Commendation Medal for the Overall Health Initiative for Ohio families Compassion Assistance Reach out Empathy for Soldiers (OHIOCARES) public awareness campaign, and two national VA Excellence in Communications Award.

Burzynski is strongly committed to social responsibility, he believes in leading by example by upholding the Army’s core values of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless-service, honor, integrity, and personal courage
(L.D.R.S.H.I.P.), which was instilled in him by his father a World War II and Korean War combat veteran and as a member of the Army’s 10th Mountain Division where he served as a light infantryman.
He has given his time, talents, and resources in the support of various not-for-profit organizations supporting those who answered America’s call to duty, their families and socio-economically disadvantaged youth as a volunteer board member, mentor, and youth basketball and soccer coach. A few of the outstanding not-for-profit organizations Burzynski supports include the Yellow Ribbon Support Center, the Fallen 15, Military Veterans Education Foundation (MILVETS), the Boys and Girls Club, Junior Achievement and the Columbus East Soccer Association (CESA).
In addition, he is a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) certified, volunteer team member of the Franklin County Emergency Response Team (CERT).
Burzynski is a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and has earned and maintains the renowned accreditation in public relations (APR) from the organization.
